More Effective Presentation Tips

Effective presentations do not happen by themselves. It is through analyzing and doing that a presenter gets better.

Here are 2 presentation tips to help you become a better speaker.

Record yourself on video and audio. There are two opportunities for this - when you are practicing and when you are delivering your presentation. Play the recordings again and again. You will recognize the good parts and the areas for improvement. The recording of your "live" presentations will also provide you with the opportunity to observe the audience's reaction to your talk.

Evaluate yourself. This is a vital step to improve your public speaking and presenting. Without this it will be very difficult to improve. Listen and look for what you did well and also for what needs improvement. Identify where you speak too fast, too slow etc. Be detached when reviewing your performance, but do not be too tough on yourself, you are looking to build on your previous delivery, not to tear it apart.Presentation tips can only help if they are applied. More Presentation Tips For Beating Nerves

Presentation nerves can be good for a speech but too many nerves adversely affect giving of the presentation and they can stop people form reaching their full potential personally, in their careers and in their businesses.

And for this reason I am giving some more presentation tips on getting over presentation nerves;

Learn to grin at an audience and go right on speaking when you make a mistake, people will forget the mistake and remember the grin. A mistake always looks much bigger in the mind of the person who made it than in anyone else's thinking because he is so near it. Other people are so busy thinking about themselves (and their own mistakes) they won't remember someone else's error long.

An audience is supportive of the person giving the presentation and want you to succeed. They know how difficult it is.Look out for more presentation tips in a few days.

Presentation Tips For Beating Nerves

Here are some further presentation tips on handling and reducing presentation nerves.

Have an attitude that, "I'm giving them my best. I hope that's good enough. At this point I couldn't do better. And if someone is unhappy with my speech, so what? Without worrying a second about any speech I've already delivered I'm going to put all my energy into the next speech."

Mentally play down the importance of his speech. Who is going to remember it a hundred years later anyway? Not many people can even remember the scores of last seasons important sports matches.

Talk about something you really know. Something you know from your heart not through memorisation

Presentation Tips For Nerves

Presentation nerves can be useful when they help you to feel excited. However when there are too many presentation nerves it can have a negative effect on the giving a presentation. Here are some presentation tips on dealing with the symptoms of presentation nerves;-

1. To prevent a dry croaky voice drink a couple of small glasses of warm water to lubricate your voice and if possible take some water with you when you start to present

2. To help stop a high pitched voice, hum a few lines of your favorite tune to help your voice to find its natural pitch

3. To prevent forgetting your opening, memorize the first few lines of your presentation to give your brain chance to catch up with you.

More Presentation Tips

There are more presentation tips to follow soon.

Here are 5 more presentation tips to make your presentation more effective;-

Don't start your presentation with an apology. It starts the presentation off on the wrong note.

Start your presentation with a question or a startling fact or a relevant quote. You can start with a joke if you are funny but otherwise avoid. You are looking to get your listener's attention.

Include 3 - 5 main points in your presentation. Any more than that and it can become unwieldy and your audience is unlikely to remember more than 5 points

Use PowerPoint slides to support your presentation not as the main focus of the presentation, and don't use too many slides

Keep the PowerPoint slides simple and uncluttered. Too much detail is distracting and can confuse the audience.
